Faith Can Move Mountais

Mark 11:23; jhunchua

Mark 11:23
"Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him."

Becoming a Triathlete

triathlete, jhunchua

What an amazing feeling to be a triathlete! After months of training, hard work, sweat and sleepless nights I can officially say that I'm an triathlete. Praise God and all the glory to Him for me to achieved this milestone, the Olympic distance triathlon 1.5k Swim, 40k Bike and 10k Run and to finish it at 3 hours and 20 mins. (official link)

Triunted 1 2016 was organize by no other by Bike King, their preparation was seemingly perfect. And my 1st open water was memorable, my experience of fear of drowning and being lost at the same time was chaos, but I kept on and followed the line. The swimming was confusing for me cause the course wasn't a straight line, it was like a zigzag and moment by moment other athlete had bump me, touch my foot and kick my hand. I'm blessed to finish the swim by 30mins.

Horray!

While the swimming was new, the bike course is new to me due to the uphill as I've trained solely on straight path. Going up averagely at 12 km for 8k was difficult. I remember watching an race that said bike is taxing for the legs and it will take effect on the run. And so I didn't push to hard for the bike. It was an exciting yet fearful course, going downhill on 60+kph was crazy, I can hear the wind blow and though there was a car following me! (it was what I heared when my windows are open on my car while driving)

ouch ouch ouch!

Oh yes finally the run, my left leg was hurting and yes, bike was taxing for the legs. I felt that there was something on my shoes after few round, apparently there where blisters on both of my foot and could't properly but yet I'm bless to have my friends cheer me on and strangers to keep me on, one of them is on the picture below (Joy Sy)

The Good Is Always The Enemy Of The Best

Revelation 3:15-16 Oswald Chambers The Good Is Always The Enemy Of The Best

“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth."

 Revelation 3:15-16

This makes me think of something Oswald Chambers says in My Utmost for His Highest. Chambers, I believe, rightly saw what keeps so many believers from truly living out their faith. He says, “The greatest enemy of the life of faith in God is not sin, but good choices which are not quite good enough. The good is always the enemy of the best.”[1] I doubt many of you are struggling with gross immoralities and heinous sin. What holds us back, more often, is filling our lives with things that are good, but not necessarily the best. Maybe some good things need to be painfully removed so that we remember that remaining connected to the vine—Christ—is all that matters. The goal should be to allow God to prune our lives, even the good things we are clinging to, so that we can be even more fruitful for His Kingdom.

We are far too easily pleased

jhunchua cs lewis matthew 13:44

Matthew 13:44

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field”

We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased. - C.S. Lewis

There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilization—these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit—immortal horrors or everlasting splendours.

Let Your Light Shine Before Others

Matthew 5:16 jhunchua

Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

It's Okay Not To Be Okay

It's Okay Not To Be Okay

It's Okay Not To Be Okay

In Christianity some how I've believed that everything going to be great once I'm a follower of Christ Jesus however that's not the case.

As I learned in Glorious Hope it's a journey and being honest to God, myself and other is God's way for healing. It's okay not to be okay and but not to stay there.

I struggle being honest, in my childhood I learned not to talk about painful feeling and keep to myself. But thanks to the Holy Spirit the power that works in me, gives me choice. Little by Little. Step by Step.
